Computerized Treadmill Testing (TMT) is a non-invasive cardiac stress test that evaluates how your heart performs during physical activity. As you walk on a motorized treadmill, your heart rate, blood pressure, and ECG are monitored to detect potential heart-related issues that may not appear when you’re at rest.
TMT helps identify:
Coronary artery disease (CAD)
Exercise-induced arrhythmias
Ischemia or reduced blood flow to the heart
Your heart’s capacity and endurance level
It’s also used to assess your fitness level before starting an exercise program or after a cardiac event.
TMT is commonly recommended if you:
Experience chest pain, breathlessness, or palpitations during exertion
Have a family history of heart disease
Are undergoing evaluation for fitness to return to work or surgery
Need follow-up after a previous heart treatment or procedure
You will walk on a treadmill that gradually increases in speed and incline.
Your ECG, blood pressure, and heart rate are continuously monitored.
The test lasts around 15–20 minutes, depending on your tolerance and results.
A trained technician or cardiologist supervises the entire process for safety.
Accurate, computer-assisted analysis
Conducted by trained professionals in a safe environment
Immediate reporting and expert consultation
Helps guide further cardiac investigations or treatments
